Player Information

Everything you need before your first kick at Lloyd Park, registration, codes of conduct, gear, training dates, and how to help on game day.

Now you're registered

What to do before Round 1

Once your child is registered for the 2026 season, work through these eight steps. Most are straightforward, and if you get stuck, our committee is one email away.

Sun 13 Apr 2026

Lock in the season start date

Round 1 of the FDJFL season kicks off Sunday 13 April 2026. Auskick starts the day before, Saturday 12 April. Add it to the family calendar – Sundays are sacred from April through August.

Send a birth certificate (new players only)

If your child is new to football at LJFC, the FDJFL needs a copy of their birth certificate. Email it to registrar@langyjfc.com as soon as possible – registration isn't complete until we have it.

Pay your fees by Round 1

Registration fees need to be paid before Round 1. Payment plans are available for families that need them – email our treasurer at treasurer@langyjfc.com to set one up. Active Kids vouchers are accepted at checkout.

Sort out the gear

Royal-blue shorts, royal-blue socks, mouthguard and football boots, see the kit list below. Most items are available from our merch shed at Lloyd Park; check our socials for opening times.

Check your details on PlayHQ

Make sure your contact phone number and email address on PlayHQ are current. Your team manager will use these to send training schedules and weekly match-day updates.

Volunteer for game day

Goal umpires, timekeepers, runners, water carriers, canteen helpers – every team needs a few parents to step up. Register as a volunteer on PlayHQ. The kids love seeing their parents on the team.

Got first aid? Tell us

If you're first-aid trained and willing to volunteer as a trainer for your child's team, email a copy of your certificate to firstaid@langyjfc.com. Trainers handle on-field injuries and are vital to player safety.

Late Feb · early Mar

Watch for your team announcement

Our football manager will email you in late February or early March with your team, your coach, and training details. Coaches will follow up with the training schedule and start asking for help with team roles.

Volunteers

It takes a community

Every team needs parents to help on game day – most jobs don't require any football knowledge, just a willingness to be there.

Volunteer on game day

Goal umpires, timekeepers, runners, water carriers, canteen helpers, coaches' assistants – pick what fits your weekend. Coaches will ask at the start of the season.

Code of Conduct

Football at LJFC is for the kids. We expect every player, parent, supporter, coach and committee member to behave in a way that keeps the game fun, safe, and respectful for everyone, at training, on match day, and around the club.

Our codes are based on the AFL community standards and apply at every Lloyd Park session. Read the full PDFs in the sidebar.

Three things we ask Respect the umpires. Encourage every player on every team. Never shout instructions from the sideline – the coaches have it covered.

Child Safeguarding

LJFC has zero tolerance for child abuse. We are committed to a child-safe and child-friendly environment for all junior players. Every coach, team manager, trainer and committee member holds a current Working with Children Check, and our Child Safeguarding Policy governs how we run sessions, communicate with parents, and respond to any concern.

If you ever have a concern about a child's safety at LJFC, contact the President at president@langyjfc.com or our Child Safety Officer immediately.

Player Care

Every match day at Lloyd Park has a qualified trainer rostered to the home team. We follow the AFL's concussion protocols – any player who suffers a head knock is removed from play and assessed before any return-to-play decision. The Concussion Management Poster (sidebar) is what our trainers and coaches work from.

If your child has an existing injury or condition the coach should be aware of, tell them at the first training session. Asthma plans, allergy plans and EpiPens are stored at the trainer's bench on match day.

Club Song

Sung after every win, in the rooms, on the bus, around the clubrooms after grand finals. Win a game, win a flag, win a wooden spoon, we sing it the same way. The kids learn it faster than the parents.

Win or lose, win or lose,
We’ll be there,
With never a heartache,
Or never a care,
We’ll fight on till victory is won,
And hear our coach say “boys/girls well done”,

Langwarrin boys/girls, Langwarrin boys/girls,
Have what it takes,
To make our club a happy place,
So watch out opposing teams,
We’ll be there right on the beam,
Langwarrin the Premier Team,

How do we spell it…
L.A.N.G.W.A.R.R.I.N.
